e-learning system requirements

The following provides a general guideline for the minimum specifications needed to run Complinet’s e-learning courseware and Learning Management System. Complinet cannot support or guarantee the successful running of our products on systems and/or web browsers that do not meet with the guidelines detailed below.

Clients and Browsers

  • Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Vista
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (6 or higher) Mozilla Firefox (2 or higher)
  • Adobe Flash Player version 8.0.42 or higher
  • Java Runtime Environment 1.6 or higher
  • JavaScript and AJAX enabled; Pop-up blocking disabled

Browser Plug-ins

Individual courseware may require add-ons depending on the style and content of the course(s) purchased. The internal training co-ordinator should be contacted for verification

Typical plug-ins required:

  • Adobe Flash Player
  • Adobe Reader

Complinet only tests and supports browsers that are supported by their vendors. Major new releases of browsers are supported within 90 days of their release, excluding beta releases.

Minimum System Requirements for Learners

  • Intel Pentium II or higher
  • 64 MB RAM or higher
  • 256 color monitor
  • Optimum Screen Resolution: 1280 x 1024 or greater
  • Internet access: broadband recommended (DSL/Cable/LAN)

Complinet SCORM packaged courses typically contain:

Graphical/ Content
.swf, .js, .css, .xsd, .png, .gif, .txt

Markup Languages
.HTML, .XML

Please ensure the aforementioned file formats are not blocked on your Server.

Caching

It is recommended by Complinet that if your company uses a Proxy Server it should NOT cache files from http://www.complinet.com

Email

RecordKeeper emails are sent from the following address: no-reply-recordkeeper@complinet.com. As a consequence, a mail server may identify certain elements in these emails as being from an unrecognised sender (i.e. junk e-mail). For the effective operation of RecordKeeper, intended email recipients must be able to receive the emails that are sent from this system.

Citrix

Accessing courses via Citrix Presentation Server is not supported and users may experience incorrectly displayed courses dependant on your Citrix configuration and the course contents. Please speak to your IT department to arrange an alternate access method if you experience this issue.

Courseware and LMS Integration

Complinet’s e-learning courses are built to the SCORM 1.2 standard, and we ensure that the courses will be compatible with any external SCORM or AICC conformant LMS. The courses are not available to be hosted on non-conformant platforms. As part of our service we fully test and integrate the content onto conformant LMS platforms.
