On 17 January, 2008, the great and good of the UK financial services compliance industry assembled at the Grosvenor in London for Complinet’s Fourth Annual Compliance Awards.
Over 380 guests were treated to the inimitable Dan Waters of the FSA, whose skills at the podium were demonstrated early in the evening when he broke into song, revealing an operatic prowess that few regulators could hope to match — as well as an astute comic sensibility. He was ably assisted by broadcaster John Humphrys, a presenter on the Today programme, who participated in a Mastermind spoof that left the audience in stitches.
The night closed seeing Complinet's 10th year anniversary award: 2008 Personality of the Decade being received by John Tattersall of PricewaterhouseCoopers, followed by evening entertainment from The Jazz Dynamos and Casino facilities.
