Hatim Tahir, FCIB, FSI, is currently Executive Director of Euronile Capital, a think-tank for emerging capital market education, industry research and consultancy. Before that Dr Tahir worked for Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX). He developed the DIFX’s strategy for professional competency-based training and investment education and assisted in business and product development, and research relating to Islamic capital markets. Dr Tahir also spent over ten years as a business consultant in the United Kingdom assisting Arab entrepreneurs in their investment projects.

Dr Tahir has many years experience in strategic advisory in the areas of Gulf capital market regulations and compliance, outsourced business development, risk management, Islamic structured products and Sharia debt-based instruments (corporate Sukuk). His recent industry research included Gulf financial market and Islamic securitised Sukuk working with two distinct academic institutions: Harvard University - Islamic Finance Project, USA, and ICMA, Henley University of Reading, UK. He holds a PhD in Banking and Finance from University of London, and was a Research Associate at the London School of Economics from 1995-2001, now Fellow of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA), Henley University of Reading, UK.

Ashley is a partner in Clyde & Co's Dubai office. Trained and qualified in Australia, he moved to London in 1993 and worked in both leading financial services companies and international law firms. His experience led him to head the capital markets/wholesale banking department in one firm and also to coordinate the European finance offering of his most previous firm before moving to Clyde & Co in Dubai in November 2006.
