Following the ending of the consultation period on a number of proposed legislative changes, set out in Consultation Papers 60 and 61, the board, after due consideration of consultees comments, approved the final version of amendments to the Rulebook as described below.
Quite a number of responses were received in relation to the proposed changes to the "residency rule for compliance officers" (consultation paper No.60/2009). After due consideration of the comments the DFSA decided that it would not proceed with the proposed changes to the Rule rather it would, in appropriate circumstances, give consent to suitable arrangements through the granting of relief under Article 25 of the Regulatory Law 2004. The DFSA’s approach in this regard is further explained in the Guidance under the relevant Rule.
