The Compliance and Legal Recruitment Teams:

Victoria Alkiviades joined Barclay Simpson in 2002 to develop the Compliance Division. Victoria is a qualified, though non-practising, solicitor. Victoria was in legal practice during N2 and was involved in advising clients on financial services regulations and anti- money laundering rules. Victoria has successfully placed compliance and financial crime professionals into niche asset management companies, private equity firms and global wealth management businesses. Victoria recruits entry level to Head of Compliance positions (including CF10/CF11). Her focus includes asset management, wealth management and private banking sectors and the regulatory practices of professional services firms.

Tim Sandwell is a Director at Barclay Simpson. Having joined in 1991, Tim began recruiting internal auditors at all levels within banking and financial services, both in the UK and Middle East. The Middle East now has a high profile within banking sectors and has attracted many leading banking and financial services companies to set up or build on existing business there. Consequently, the demand for compliance professionals has increased dramatically. Tim has been using his considerable understanding of banking and Middle Eastern recruitment to focus on compliance positions in the region. Tim recruits permanent and interim positions at all levels from Compliance Assistant to Heads of Group Compliance.

Sacha Hughes joined Barclay Simpson in June 2004 and has over five years’ recruitment experience. Sacha specialises in compliance and financial crime recruitment for Investment Banking and Securities sectors. Her clients include branches or passported offices of overseas wholesale banks, stock exchanges and UK and top tier global investment banks. Sacha has successfully recruited permanent compliance positions at all levels including entry level to CF10/11 (Head of Compliance and MLRO).

Matt Crocombe joined the Compliance Division in August 2006. With more than seven years recruitment experience in legal, finance and now compliance, Matt specialises in recruiting permanent compliance and financial crime roles for the retail banking, retail financial services and insurance sectors. Matt has placed compliance professionals at all levels within these sectors from Compliance Assistant to Head of Compliance and MLRO/Head of Financial Crime.

Natalie Brown joined Barclay Simpson in January 2007 with more than eighteen months recruitment experience. Following the launch of “Barclay Simpson Interim Solutions” (over twelve months ago), www.barclaysimpson.com/interimsolutions Natalie has successfully worked with a vast range of banking and financial services companies to provide a dedicated recruitment service focusing on temporary, interim and contract compliance positions at all levels.

Jane Fry is an experienced legal recruiter who began her recruitment career in 2000. She has considerable experience of recruiting qualified lawyers in-house into the financial services sector as well as in placing solicitors into City and US law firms. Jane works on a wide range of positions and has successfully recruited Junior Legal Counsel through to Heads of Legal in a variety of institutions from global investment banks to niche hedge funds and private equity houses. She joined Barclay Simpson to develop the legal division.
