Client On-Boarding Associate

Our client, a global investment bank is seeking to hire an individual to work within the client relationship management department. Focussing on client on-boarding your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • o Understanding regulatory changes that may affect the Investment Banking businesses and pro-actively communicate with the businesses
  • o Assist in the implementation of compliance arrangements flowing from new businesses and products
  • o Responding to queries from the business, compliance, credit, legal and settlement departments
  • o Communication regarding compliance, legal and credit matters with the businesses within EMEA
  • o Working to ensure all necessary AML/KYC documentation has been collated to receive the required internal compliance clearance
  • o Working closely with Legal and Credit to ensure that the required data is collated to allow them to complete their reviews and assessments to ensure that the business obtains the required approval
  • o Liaising between the Credit and Legal departments (and where necessary, the business itself) during the legal documentation negotiation process
  • o Assisting with ad-hoc telephone query/ies received from clients (internal and external) and handling these queries through to resolution
  • o Raising and monitoring priorities with all support teams
  • o Ensuring that Settlements are aware of potential new counterparties and providing support with any query and/or documentation including the settlement instructions
  • o Monitor work flow and backlogs
  • o Provide management with support information (e.g. counterparty status reports) as required

KEY SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong verbal ability, judgment and administrative skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise between detailed day to day activity, including problem-solving, and longer term activities and projects
  • Proven ability to sustain high level of performance under pressure with short deadlines etc.
  • Proven ability to argue a risk based approach to compliance and effectively communicate this approach to internal stakeholders (e.g Front Office
  • Superior interpersonal and relationship building skills to build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels, including with external parties
  • Strong interpersonal skills and be a team player
  • Effective communication skills including strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High levels of enthusiasm and motivation along with the ability to be proactive
  • Good understanding of the business requirements
  • Good understanding of credit, legal and compliance issues
