Our Client, a leading International Banking Group, is looking to recruit an astute Country Chief Risk Officer. Reporting to the Country CEO and Regional CRO you will be tasked with leading the Country Risk function ensuring you strengthen and enhance the Country’s understanding of risk considerations in all activities undertaken. Duties will include:

• Leading and directing the Risk Function as a partner to the various business lines, supporting growth aspirations whilst retaining the appropriate risk management discipline to achieve strategic goals.
• Directing and/or driving functional oversight of the Ireland Risk Management operations.
• Acting as the in-country expert on Operational, Credit and Insurance Risk and ensuring that effective local processes and procedures are in place.
• Supporting the business lines to improve market risk frameworks ensuring compliance with internal standards.
• Recommending/approving significant exposures ensuring that Risk/Reward is appropriate.
• Establishing and maintaining the in-country Risk Framework, Stress Testing activities (regulatory and business as usual) and Economic Capital framework.
• Assessing new products, services and markets as the product set is expanded.

The successful candidate is likely to be professionally qualified (MBA, ACA or equivalent) with good financial & accounting acumen and will ideally have gained broad ranging Financial Services experience, with a good understanding of the Commercial/Retail Banking & Insurance sectors.

While you will have a thorough grasp of the entire risk suite including credit, market, insurance and operational as important will be your unquestionable ability to engender support of senior executives across country and functions through effectively influencing their thinking and thus driving through far reaching risk management improvement and change.
