Exclusive: Head of Internal Audit – Banking Experience Req’d

We are exclusively recruiting for the London Branch of a European Bank looking to recruit a Head of Internal Audit to provide assurance to Senior Management and the Audit Committee, including appropriate information on any major risk exposure and the progress made in implementing action to manage exposure effectively. Reporting to the MD and managing a small team your duties will include:

• Maintain and manage the Audit Plan, ensuring that all key risks are covered by appropriate controls and that line management have effective systems in place to identify, monitor and measure risk
• Undertake a rolling programme of reviews in key functional areas to ensure that significant risks are being identified and managed
• Conduct value-added investigations and ad-hoc reviews in accordance with Senior Management requests and perform special studies, investigations or other services in matters of interest or concern to the Audit Committee
• Review all major business initiatives to ensure that key risks are identified & arrangements are in place to manage appropriately and that here is an effective framework for project management and progress reporting
• Provide information to Senior Management on the effectiveness of systems to enable them to control the Bank’s affairs and make informed decisions
• Review the Bank’s Risk Management policy on a timely basis to ensure all perceived risks are included therein and managed adequately

Successful candidates will be MIIA qualified or a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with Internal Audit experience gained in Banking. You must be able to both roll up your sleeves and cope with details as well as being able to influence at board level.
