Senior Compliance Officer (Commodities/LME)
The house:
My client is the London branch of the esteemed corporate and investment arm of a top tier Financial Services house with an international presence.
The successful incumbent will play a key advisory role in the London compliance team. This is a challenging opportunity for a professional with excellent Commodities/London Metal Exchange experience.
Main Accountabilities to include:
- Provide compliance services (advisory, training etc) for the corporate & investment banking business, predominantly for the commodity markets business. Act as the main compliance point of contact for that business.
- Assist the management of the Compliance department and the London Branch in setting the strategies to enable the management of compliance risk and the desire for compliance to be embedded in the culture.
- Take responsibility for identifying requisite changes to policies and procedures to ensure that the branch and other UK based entities meet all their regulatory requirements and have effective policies, systems and controls in place for managing all aspects of compliance risks across their operations.
- Assist in the maintenance of systems and controls and the assessment of compliance risk in relevant areas and coordinate with and assist the London Compliance Controller to ensure appropriate coverage of monitoring and controls in the Control program.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have an in depth knowledge of the regulatory regime and internal processes. In addition, an in depth knowledge of the rules and processes of commodity exchanges is required.
