Compliance Manager (Policy/Terms of Business)

My client is a first rate global investment bank.

The successful incumbent will support the ongoing operation of the Central Compliance team. The core activities of the Central Compliance team in London impacting on the employee will include:

  • Handling terms of business and other related correspondence from counterparties, and liaising with the Law department as necessary on matters requiring their input (approx 30-40% of role but may be higher in peak periods)
  • Providing technical analysis and support to the Head of Central Compliance on matters impacting the team, in particular relating to Transaction Reporting, Client Classification, Client Assets/Monies, Record Retention, Approved Persons, etc
  • Drafting and maintaining, as required, Compliance Policies and procedures which pertain to Central Compliance
  • Assist the Head of Central Compliance with the production and enhancement of concise and high quality internal (Head Office/ Board reports) and external reporting (FSA etc)

Required:

  • A broad knowledge of the UK regulatory framework including an excellent understanding of the FSA Conduct of Business and Market Abuse rules.
  • Ability and willingness to accept accountability, demonstrate initiative, work with limited direct supervision and support effective cross-unit co-operation, information sharing etc
