Senior Global Compliance Monitoring Officer

Reporting directly into the global head of compliance monitoring, this opportunity is a mixture of both monitoring strategy and hands on desk reviews. The client is looking for a genuinely self motivated, confident individual who can undertake occasional international work as part of the role with the main focus being in London. You will get genuine buy-in from the business working in a positive, friendly, highly respected bank.

Responsibilities:

Execute Compliance Monitoring reviews working either as part of a team or independently. This will include:

  • analysing relevant regulatory requirements,
  • determining how they apply to the Business under review,
  • developing Compliance Monitoring review programs,
  • testing the adequacy and effectiveness of the control framework,
  • working with the Business/Compliance to ensure that issues have been correctly identified and remediation plans have been agreed,
  • documenting the results in a formal report,
  • preparation of work papers to support the review work performed and the conclusions reached as well as following up on corrective actions to ensure issues have been appropriately addressed.
  • Work with International global network of Compliance Officers and prepare regular updates for progress against Compliance Monitoring plans, reports published, key issues identified and status of corrective actions;
  • Deputise for the Global Head of Compliance Monitoring

Your skills/knowledge:

  • Initiative, drive and ability to work independently
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong Excel and Word skills
  • Audit or Compliance Monitoring experience preferred
  • Experience in Investment Banking preferred, particularly Global Markets and Commodities
  • Experience in management reporting
