Credit Risk Manager

Credit Risk Manager required within a large Government body, to lead develop and deliver the debt, cash and balance sheet management objectives.



This exciting Credit Risk Manager role will be within the Risk Management team and report directly to the Head of Risk. In addition to Credit Risk, the Risk Management team has responsibility for market risk, operational risk and control, compliance, legal and documentation.
The purpose of this Credit Risk Manager role is to strengthen the quality and pro-activity of the core credit risk management service by providing timely expert credit analysis and identifying and delivering improvements to existing credit policies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
* Analysis of credit conditions and counterparties
* Active monitoring and reporting on market developments including sovereign risk issues
* Identification and delivery of policy, process, control and system improvements
* Proposing changes in credit limits and/or credit policies
* Analysis and delivery of the credit aspects of projects and initiatives
* Investigation and explanation of credit exposure calculations and collateralisation issues
* Conducting due diligence on new counterparties
* Preparing high quality submissions for the Credit & Market Risk Committee
* Performance management and development of one team member
* Exposure reporting, limit set up and excess monitoring
* Involvement in other non-core responsibilities necessary for the risk team to provide robust support to the business across its range of activities

This Credit Risk Manager will have:
* Senior experience in analytical risk management roles
* Proven credit analysis of banks and financial institutions
* Prepared and presented well reasoned credit proposals
* Implemented arrangements to ensure full awareness of relevant market developments
* Familiarity with rating agency analysis and its interpretation
* Strong level of awareness of credit processes supporting a dealing operation
