A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a Top Tier investment bank for a Treasury specialist.

Working with the Global Transaction Europe Middle East and Africa Treasury & Trade Compliance Head to ensure that Product and Functional personnel comply with applicable laws, regulations and policies with regard to Treasury & Trade products and processes within EMEA.

• Providing advice and assistance in resolving the compliance and regulatory issues arising from laws, regulations and policies in the areas of trade finance, cash management, deposit-taking and Central Bank rules, anti-boycott, AML/KYC/Sanctions and US regulatory issues, plus emerging laws/regulations governing the businesses' in EMEA.
• Assist in developing generic policy and guidance to assist the business in understanding and complying with their legal and regulatory obligations across the region being particularly sensitive to jurisdictional differences.
• Investigating suspicious transactions and liaising with Security Services and AML Compliance for SAR filing.
• Supporting local compliance across the countries (providing assistance to business peer review teams and direction to Compliance Controls Unit and ensuring that Compliance and Business Senior Management are fully informed of relevant issues arising from the region (e.g. provision of 'lessons learned' arising from Audit and Risk reviews conducted in other countries).
• Regular participation in deal reviews and Capital Markets Approval Committee meetings.
• Review of product programs ensuring inclusion of regulatory and internal policy requirements.
• Support the Compliance Head in interface with regulators and internal examiners in the areas of Cash & Trade.
• To assist in the management of the cash & trade processes to: identify new and changed local laws and regulations; and distribute these to the affected business units.
• To provide compliance training in line with business' assessment of need.
• Collate information on a monthly basis and prepare compliance matrix, as requested.
• To keep the Compliance management team informed on an ongoing basis of the quality of compliance in the Treasury & Trade Solutions businesses'.

Competencies:

• Outstanding level of analytical and reasoning capacity
• Ability to provide high calibre advice in a clear and concise manner that is appropriate to an audience of all levels
• Demonstrably strong teamwork skills
• Good understanding of and an ability to use systems, databases, spreadsheets etc and/or learn the systems etc that the Compliance department utilises, in order to provide the job holder with the required understanding of the underlying transactions being advised upon.
• Knowledge of US, UK and local laws and regulations applicable to the referenced businesses;
• Understanding of the relevant business processes and of the impact of Compliance requirements;
• Ability to interact with US, UK and local regulators, internal audit and Legal;
• Basic project management skills and ability to complete projects (including regional surveys) on deadlines;
• Evaluation of Compliance and franchise risks.
