Oversight Manager

My client is looking for a Compliance Officer to manage the compliance change function and implement a strategy for ensuring that all regulatory changes are identified, assessed and communicated to relevant business areas with oversight of implementation.  This role also includes the responsibility for assessing impact on regulatory processes and controls as a result of any change programmes.  The role requires individuals to have a deep understanding of the regulatory impact on the relevant business activities, first-class relationship management skills and the ability to drive compliance culture within the business.  


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 
·         Manage the business area compliance function to ensure that regulatory changes are identified assessed and communicated to relevant business areas.
·         To ensure that a robust methodology is in place for impact assessments which includes proactive engagement with stakeholders across the business and risk functions (and any other functions where appropriate)
·         Ensure that effective monitoring and control systems are in place in order that all compliance related issues are readily identified and remedial actions implemented in order to minimise risk.
·         When required initiate/manage compliance related projects ensuring these are delivered on time and to specification.
·         Where appropriate define and implement compliance procedures for new products/services, assessing inherent risks before implementation, and providing advice and guidance in order that issues may be considered and resolved.
·         Provide advice, guidance, direction and interpretation as regards compliance issues and develop compliance relationships across the designated areas of the business.
·         Where appropriate assist with compliance training programmes to ensure that staff are aware of their respective responsibilities arising from regulatory requirements.
·         Manage, motivate, develop and appraise direct reports to ensure that their performance meets the present and future needs of the business.
·         Contribute to the budget planning process.
·         Review and, where appropriate, sanction recommendations for improvements to processes, practices and procedures ensuring all changes are effectively planned, communicated and implemented with the minimum of disruption and that changes are understood by all affected parties.
·         Provide support to Senior Management in the interpretation of regulatory changes and their likely impact on processes, procedures, controls and products.
