Fraud Investigator

About the Client:

Our client is a leading UK retailer, with a fantastic employment reputation

About the Role:

  • The Fraud Investigator will be required to assist the Credit & Risk team in managing potential fraudulent cases on a day to day basis, whilst owning their individual case load of investigations.
  • Carry out investigations work in accordance with regulatory and business standards
  • Gather intelligence and evidence using recognised, approved sources and complying with all relevant and prevailing legislation
  • Provide the Credit & Risk team with appropriate guidance on active caseloads and advice on fraud cases
  • Undertake fraud risk assessments to ensure robust controls are in place to mitigate fraud whilst minimising opportunities for new fraud to occur.

What we're looking for:

Essentially you will have the following:-

  • CIFAS experience
  • Proven experience in financial crime and fraud investigations
  • Experience of progressing investigations using a different range of sanctions
  • Strong decision making and judgement• Investigative and questioning in nature
  • Attention to detail, an accurate worker who is meticulous
  • Ability to prioritise duties
  • Proven ability to deal professionally and confidently with people at all levels
  • Be a self motivated team player

Some desirable skill include:-

  • Previous experience working in retail or a financial services environment.
  • Hold recognised qualifications in investigative skills, such as AFI (accredited Fraud Investigator) or ACFS/CCFS (Accredited/Certified Counter Fraud Specialist) or equivalent
  • Have sound knowledge and understanding of both Criminal Investigation legislation and regulations
