AML Risk and Controls Officer, AVP
Overview:
Our client is a highly successful, global financial services organisation. The Global Anti Money Laundering (AML) Risk and Controls team is responsible for conducting Quality Assurance on the AML functions within the firm, maintaining and updating the Global AML Policy, annual AML Risk Analysis and Assessments.
The prime purpose of the QA review is to assess adherence to AML legislative and regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures by undertaking targeted reviews, which provide for an in-depth and independent look at a particular location or function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct onsite and offsite quality assurance reviews analysing the current risk activities and policy across AML and monitoring adherence to and assessing performance against AML programmes
- Produce written analytical reports as a result of the reviews
- Receive and analyse MIS from AML to ensure appropriate monitoring and oversight, if needed, proposing further enhancements for optimizing the MIS output
- Conduct annual review of the AML control programmes
- Develop and maintain country risk analysis and review risk criteria on an ongoing basis
- Produce ad hoc presentations as required
- Track AML issues identified either through any internal or external reviews to ensure appropriate action undertaken for subsequent resolution
- Maintain effective relationships between Global AML and other key stakeholders
- Assist with revisions to the Global AML Policy
- Assist where required with the annual risk analysis process
- Any other ad-hoc tasks required to be undertaken as appropriate
You will have:
- Extensive AML experience
- Previous experience in an assurance, audit or wider AML role within a major global financial services firm
- Expert knowledge of AML risk issues and relevant legislative/regulatory landscapes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential, along with strong influencing, problem solving, organisational, time management and stakeholder management skills
- The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities to meet business needs
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
