Financial Promotions Officer (071009)

My client is looking for someone to join their Financial Promotions Team. They are looking for candidates who have experience of providing specialist supervision and taking responsibility for the identification of risks in the financial promotions arena. The successful candidate can come from a legal, compliance or marketing background.

What does the job involve?

· Proactively identify areas of financial promotions risk;

· Monitor a range of media;

· Investigate where concerns are identified;

· Engage in discussions with firms;

· Drive improved standards through thematic work;

· Play a lead role in the strategy for financial promotions, dealing with and assessing new risk and putting together an appropriate mitigation programme for such risk;

· Communicate with firms and the industry (orally and in writing) to achieve a greater understanding of their expectations and concerns and an improved standard of promotions;

· Provide specialist advice and knowledge of the requirements and their interpretation internally;

· Deliver firm-specific outcomes testing;

· Develop and implement effective stakeholder management and communication strategy;

· Contribute to divisional intelligence gathering / strategic risk assessment

· Produce MI to assess and demonstrate success to our stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:

· Excellent communication: experience in being able to deliver difficult messages firmly and clearly to firms and complex issues to consumers in a simply way;

· Stakeholder management: ability to develop effective relationships with firms.

· Effective decision making and delivery of outcomes: ability to deliver the agreed work under pressure without losing focus on the overall goals; ability to see the bigger picture and focus on the detail as appropriate;

· Collaboration/teamwork: ability to work actively with others to achieve individual and team goals;

· Technical: the market and product knowledge needed to earn credibility internally and externally and to carry out high quality analysis; and

· Flexibility: to play a key role on other thematic and/or policy work, when required

· They are looking to recruit two permanent and one fixed term contractor to the financial promotions team.
