&lt;p&gt;My Client is a specialist investment management business based in Edinburgh. They are looking for a Governance Team Leader to add to their successful team.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;JOB PURPOSE:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The successful candidate will have a proven track record of operating at a senior level within a Risk and compliance function. S/he will possess strong technical expertise together with sound decision-making and influencing skills. While looking at the bigger picture, s/he will have a detailed understanding of the roles, responsibilities, activities and outputs required from a high performing Risk and compliance function.&lt;span style=&quot;mso-spacerun: yes;&quot;&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This individual will act as counsel to the Acting Head of Risk and compliance, and will represent the team at various internal and external meetings as required. The individual must possess strong leadership skills, will be a strategic thinker, and an outstanding business partner. The ability to conceptualize issues and develop solutions quickly in a fast-paced, changing environment is a necessity. Strong negotiating skills are also critical to success in the role. Finally, this individual must be charismatic, strategically imaginative, analytically disciplined, and fluid/flexible at an interpersonal level.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Specific responsibilities include:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt; &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Providing support to the Acting Head of Risk and compliance in leading, motivating and directing the Risk &amp; Compliance team&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Supporting the team&amp;rsquo;s focus of championing risk control and the compliance culture throughout the business.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Providing technical services to business areas relating to regulatory requirements and risk management, facilitating the flow of information.&lt;span style=&quot;mso-spacerun: yes;&quot;&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Maintaining a commercial outlook in assisting the business in achieving objectives.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt; &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Significant experience in corporate/financial services&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Educated to degree level&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Three to five years management experience&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Sound knowledge of the UK regulatory regime&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Experience of risk management an advantage&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
