Our client is a leading financial services business and having been recently acquired by a premier global institution, there has been a huge cash injection into the company’s development. As such our client is now looking to recruit a Compliance Specialist to join their team of ten. Please note that applicants must be currently working in a life & pensions business.
The main focus of this role is to assist the Compliance Team in producing and delivering compliance procedures and updates and to ensure effective procedures are conducted in relation to the aims of the team. The successful applicant will undertake regular risk based compliance audits and ensure compliance with FSA Rules, as well as to make sure that customers are being treated fairly.
Other core responsibilities will include:
· Provision of management information / monthly reporting, as required.
· To approve relevant documents / procedures etc. on behalf of the company or its clients in accordance with any applicable Rules and / or regulation as required.
· To produce and review departmental procedures as necessary.
· To record, report and investigate any suspicious activities raised (through the escalation process for Whistleblowing, Fraud and Money Laundering).
· To provide oversight of adherence to the Training & Competency policy.
· To assist in the development, introduction and completion of relevant projects / business solutions as required.
· To provide technical assistance to other departments and to clients as required.
· To record and monitor breaches and to ensure appropriate remedial action is taken.
As noted above, candidates will need to be currently working in a life & pensions company. Technically, applicants will need to demonstrate a strong background in all round compliance and feel comfortable communicating and influencing people at all levels. A strong customer focus and appreciation of the role compliance can play in a commercial business are vital.
