A leading Financial Services house that provide a broad range of asset management and investment services to both institutional and individual clients is looking for a Financial Crime Investigator in their International Compliance department based in Edinburgh. With a diverse global client base varying from financial institutions, government agencies and high net worth individuals, they are constantly striving to extend their advanced capabilities.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Overseeing, administering and where appropriate participating in the internal investigation of financial crimes. Including money laundering, criminal and/or terrorist activities / irregularities, and market abuse.
Filing the relevant incident reports with Suspicious Activity Report Control.
Reviewing and investigating transaction monitoring alerts in a timely manner, whilst ensuring full adherence to all processes and controls.
Ensuring adequate records of investigations are maintained.
Raising Suspicious Activity Reports as required following investigations.
Assisting with monitoring the effectiveness of the system and suggesting both systemic and procedural improvements.
Working with the business as required during the investigation process.
Assisting with the logging and investigation of Suspicious Activity Reports.
Assisting with ad-hoc projects as required.
Reviewing and investigating high risk client account activity and logging all investigations and findings.

Ideally you will have previous experience of Financial Crime Compliance within Financial Services, with an understanding of the regulatory requirements surrounding this field.
